One of the elegant collection of singular hotels and residences owned by André Balazs, Chiltern Firehouse was opened in was 2013. It is housed in what was the former Marylebone Fire Station which was built in 1889. After being decommissioned in June 2005, the building was used occasionally as an exhibition area for local artists until it was converted into a plush and splendid hotel and restaurant. The hotel has been named by Conde Nast as one of its favorite hotels in England and its restaurant has received accolades from numerous food blogs and award-giving bodies. Although the restaurant is a popular hangout of celebrities, the hotel is where you can relish utmost privacy and exclusivity. The hotel is only two miles from the heart of the city and its strategic location provides its guests the opportunity to be just minutes away from the city’s numerous attractions.

The hotel has 26 rooms and suites with retro interiors featuring one or more working fireplaces. The rooms are very stylish yet not over-styled and pompous, so it has a very cozy and relaxing atmosphere which cannot be said in a number of boutique hotel rooms which has a tendency to make you feel like you are sleeping in a museum. The best thing about the hotel is that it provides you access to its world famous restaurant, and the inner sanctum of its exclusive Ladder Shed bar, which is limited to the hotel residents. Guests are provided with their own personal concierge who is on their beck and call 24-hous a day. There are no in-house directories in Chiltern Firehouse; you just simply dial “0” for everything!
