Located in the island of Maui, Haleakala National Park spans over the island’s eastern and southern coastlines. It covers a total area of 33,265 acres featuring the huge and famous Haleakalā Crater which spans 6.99 miles, 2.0 miles wide, and  2,600ft deep. The park is known for its panoramic landscape, fantastic scenery, and unusual volcanic features. According to the Friends of Haleakala National Park, the park has more endangered species than any other national park in the United States. The park is about two hours from the south of Maui, and three hours from the west of Maui.

A vacation in Maui is not complete if you do not visit the Haleakala National Park. The park is open all year round so you can visit it at any time of the year except during extreme weather conditions. It is famous for its stunning sunrise and magnificent sunsets.
